I have to wonder tho, after seeing these photos, if Gamboa regrets not fallowing thru with the fight, because RIos looks like Morales looked vs Pacquiao 2
fight would have been canceled anyway no way it goes through they could pull this **** on Murray or Abril but not against the big names.

hell maybe Marquez wouldn't agree to the July fight now even tho its at 140

I've said something like this before. There's a reason why Rios goes through this crap: size advantage. Why else would anyone put themselves through that hell? Bad news for Brandon, though; the higher weights are probably going to be too much for him.

Rios doesn't need to move up to 140; he needs to go straight to 147. The man looks like a corpse at 139. A healthy and decent junior middleweight would take deadly advantage of "Bam Bam's" condition. A major welterweight like Victor Ortiz would smash him. What's left?

I just finished saying something like this in the other thread.

According to The Ring, Rios was only fined $45k which is absolutely horse****. Is he paying Abril as well on top of those $45k? Or is the fine going to Abril?

Don't know. But 45k is a lot of loot; Brandon's "only" getting 500k. I think the penalty is just. Plus, Rios might've gone too far and allowed Abril too much of a handicap.

In his last fight he blamed the second weigh in result being the fact that the scale stayed on the stage during HBO's special for PAC/JMM III and it not being calibrated again afterword. What's his excuse this time? He goes to sweat off a few pounds and actually gains 2?

Abril gets 22,500 and the commission gets the other 22,500

45K is not enough. Rios is actually getting 450,000 for the fight. The fine is only 10%. It varies by state, but California fines 20% if i recall correctly. The fact the Rios has done this twice in a row means (imo) that they should escalate the fine percentage.
