I know Emmanuel Stewart said that Cotto is one of the hardest punches he knows.

Mosley hits harder in my opinion if you are talking about head punches. He was able to hurt and finish Margarito and Cotto could not stagger him in either fight. Cotto hits harder to the body I think. I don't think Cotto hits harder at 154 than he does at 147 because he is a big welterweight not a full Jr middleweight. That is why he tried to rematch Margarito at a catchweight of 150 instead of 154. He would have to score lots of punches to KO Floyd.I don't think he needs a KO to win. He has a great jab, good all around boxing skills and he is a great body puncher. All those things could give Floyd trouble and Cotto is 4 years younger. I still pick Floyd to win of course.

I agree, I think MOsley hits harder @ 147 or 154, however, that Margarito fight with MOsley, Marg was under su****ion before the fight - so going into the fight he wasnt mentally 100 percent. I still think Shane would've whooped him, but I think getting caught with the Plaster put him on a "mind4uck" and he mentally was beat from the first bell.

I am sure Margarito was not 100%, mentally and I heard he was poorly trained as well. I would love to see a rematch at 154. I think Margarito would win if his eye holds up.

mosleys power at 147 and 154 gets overrated a bit. He happened to depend on it more when he started to decline but just him depending on it doesnt mean he is a huge puncher. I think DLH was a bigger puncher than mosley at both weights but I think mosley still hit harder than Cotto and that shows in his fights with Margo and again in his fight with Mayorga when he was able to end it rather quickly late with some power shots., ie go from mayorga being fine to stopped in a short period of time.

Cotto is naturally a more heavier handed puncher IMO but Shanes shots are more explosive.

steward says that a lot these days

not only does he work for cotto and have his best interest aligned with cottos, he works for HBO, who have an interest in cotto.

mosley hits harder than cotto with either hand at any weight

cotto might have an argument with his left hook, but he rarely throws it anymore. at that stage in a combination he's usually running away.

Cotto is gonna have a lot of problem landing that left hand (hook) the way Floyd holds his right hand up. I think the landing rate gonna be like 2-1 in favor of Floyd.
