Abril is a funny guy,but the joke maybe on him. Aint Rios mother Caucasian that would make him 25 % Mexican. Lol Yes Mexican are a special race of humans just look at Eloy Perez, Marquez, and Rios the all look the same.

I hope you were kidding about that, Eloy Perez does not have 1 ounce of mexican pride in him he's just a cokehead that quit when he had his one and only chance to shine.

I think what Abril is trying to say is that if Rios wasn’t a boxer he would probably not try so hard to show how Mexican he is. Rios might be pulling the Mexican card to win over one of the best and most loyal sector of the boxing fans. Mexicans love their boxers, they go to the events, they buy the PPV, the root and show support for their fighters. Rios hasn’t made an effort to learn Spanish, acculturate himself a little that heritage that he so fervently claims, and other than that mariachi cry at the end of his fights (which he manages to make it extra annoying), there is nothing about Brandon Rios that would pass for Mexican. Brandon does not care about Mexicans, just their wallets.

Rios should win this fight, but Abril is a live dog. Richard has some skills, and I'll bet he's gonna make this bout ugly. I wouldn't be surprised if this fight goes to the cards.

Too many guys are taking Abril's comments too literally. Richard was being sarcastic. All he meant is that Brandon is not really Mexican, that riding horses and listening to Rancheras is all it takes to make one more "Mexican" than Rios. As some have already pointed out, Mexicans would probably agree with Abril on that point.
