If anyone is like me and their friends don't follow boxing, it can be tough to get enough people to split the PPV. I went to the theatres for Mayweather-Mosley and Mayweather-Ortiz. I had a great time and I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is wild and everyone is having a great time. The sound and picture quality is fantastic. I've never been to a live fight before, but its great to hear an entire theatre oohhh and aahhh when the fighters land their shots.

The Racket Squad: Squeezing The Buck In The Age of Floyd
Never will so many have spent so much in so many places to witness so little.
This is not a title fight.
It is the battle to ensure that Floyd has plenty of commissary cash come incarceration time.
This fight is a pure Black vs. Puerto Rican set up with a Mexican chaser.
Poor Shane will leave what is left of his dignity in those 400 theaters.
The promotion is designed along the lines of Cooney vs. Holmes.
We all know what was at the dark heart of that event.Comment

so? big deal
that sucks, where I'm at it's $15 ... If I'm not mistaken the Hopkins/RJJ, JMM-Diaz rematch and Mayweather/Mosley were all $20
but for where I'm at, I believe the price is $15 and I'm 50/50 right now on going, just gotta see if a couple friends would be down to see it as well.
fail. Yeah it is, Cotto's the Ring Magazine Champ at 154 as well as the WBA champ .. both those titles will be on the line
"If anyone is like me and their friends don't follow boxing, it can be tough to get enough people to split the PPV."
same problem I have, but for those who've never seen a fight @ theaters ... I've gone twice and had a blast both times. Good environment (not so much chitter chatter as fights are going on) and obviously a very big screen were the positives
**the only real negative is pricing as I've seen in some areas tickets as high as $25. But again where I'm located, and for the fights I've gone I paid only $15, which IMO is a pretty good deal all things considered
I mean yeah you can't drink or smoke at the theaters, big deal. If it's that important to you, you can always sneak some booz in or somethingComment

That's just about what I was going to post, although I'd expect the main event to be a reasonable fight. As a whole the fight card ins't worth it. I wonder whodid the matchmaking, maybe that guy Eric Gomez. (maybe Alfonso is his cousin) Yet, it's the fighters themselves decide if they want to fight the opponents or not.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 04-10-2012, 05:54 PM.Comment
