Getting your face rearranged by Margarito, Pacquiao and soon to be Mayweather doesn't add to a resume.

He beat Margarito, and how would Ward or any of those guys do against guys as skilled as Mayweather/Pacquaio. Just because Ward fights in a division without the top 2 fighters in the world doesn't mean he gets a pass and Cotto doesn't. Cotto fighting Mayweather and Pacquaio adds to his resume.

Yes, at a certain point facing fighters adds to your resume, even if you lose. The #1 and #2 P4P fighters certainly are this very point.

Ward's Super Six trophy and Donaire's win against Montiel were huge, but neither of them have the resume of Cotto yet. Of course their careers are not at the closing stage such as Cotto's, so this is subject to change.
