    Floyd at 168 vs......

How do you think he would do at SMW right now against Froch, Taylor, Johnson, Green, & AA?

Do you think he could beat any of those 5? Do you think he would make it competitive against any of them? Do you think any of them stops him? Just how do you think those fights play out. Remember, Im just speaking of these 5 guys. Do you think he gets dominated, brutalized, or what?

Floyd not built for 168. The guys there have greater reach and bigger frame.
    END Of discussion.

At some point size does become an issue. Floyd is barely going to crack 154, so him even fighting a Middleweight / Super Middleweight is asking for too much. As great as Henry Armstrong was, he did go up to Middleweight (where he got a disputed draw) from Feartherweight but asking to move another class up is just too much.

Jermain Taylor is garbage. Floyd could beat him but it would be ugly and people would complain about the fight afterwards. Floyd would be best served by moving a lot baldomir fight style which he hasnt done in a while and he is older now. Taylor is big and has power but his reflexes are shot, so it would be floyd moving from him and landing but floyd cant hurt him even though his chin is gone hes too big.

If roy jones beat ruiz, I dont see why floyd couldnt beat taylor of today. All he has to do is not get hit and taylors reflexes are gone.

He wont do it because it would be a terrible career move. Put on weight for a fight people dont want to see and if he does win then people will just want to see him fight other guys at 168 like ward who would be too much. Its like RJJ, beat ruiz, a guy picked for his style (and abc belt) and then drop back down to 175 after people want to see him fight lewis and mess up his body in the process (though not as much as people claim because he didnt put on 20 pounds but more like 5-10 pounds)

Gun to my head I take Floyd over Froch.

Power doesn't mean **** if you can't land it... Ive sparred a guy that was 130lbs, I was 185.. I couldn't land a glove on him.

yeah, I would pick Floyd in that fight but I wouldnt be 100% sure about it. Spinks gave a prime Taylor trouble so I could see Floyd giving this version trouble even though Floyd doesnt move like that anymore

I remember for a very brief moment, there was talk of Floyd Mayweather vs Jermain Taylor when Floyd was moving up to fight DLH at the 154 limit and Taylor was fighting Corey Spinks at 160.

Sometimes we look at the numbers on paper and think, "ok Floyd is fighting at 154, he can easily fight a MW at 160"...but that doesn't mean Floyd can effectively fight at that high a weight. He's not a big guy. Middleweights today are 5'11-6'3 with longer reaches and practically already drained to make MW. Floyd will come in at 149 for a 154lb bout.

i could see that and thats why he's the only top fighter I put on the list. I think his style gives Floyd a chance to atleast be competitive

A win over Taylor in 2007 would have been special. A win over today's Taylor would be seen as manufactured and carefully chosen.

If Floyd wants an impressive, risky win over a quality MW, it's Martinez.
