This, its no coincidence that they are talking the exact date of chavez jr's supposed match against sergio. TR/Arum will make an excuse for why they cant fight sergio and will work their magic on the belt organization to by pass that nagging mandatory challenger status for sergio. Hell they already got the "optional defense" for this summer okayed out of the blue for Chavez to fight some can instead of sergio.

At this point boxing definitely doesn't need Antonio Margarito and I'd be surprised if he still needs the paydays. I hope he hangs them up before damaging his eye further. I think the beatings he took from Mosley and Pacquiao paid his karmic debt.
Chavez vs Margarito would be a disgrace but I have no doubt that Arum is working on making it.Last edited by Enzo Mc is SHIT; 04-08-2012, 08:58 PM.Comment

If you cheat in one fight you're guilty of cheating in all of them until proven innocent. I don't think Margarito cheated in any fight except vs Mosley but he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. That's why I see Cotto as undefeated(the "loss" vs Pacroid also doesn't count). Tony really needs to retire already. Geez!Comment

Tony is finished
with his style, he needs durability to keep going
Cotto rematch showed that bad eye won't hold up
he'll get busted up and beat by anybody serious he fights
wouldn't mind seeing him get a paper belt to retire with
but even that seems like a long shot by nowComment

Since the loaded glove incident Margarito has fought 3 bouts vs world class compitition, in those 3 fights its hard to claim he's won more that 2 or 3 rds, let alone been competitive. So if he insists on continueing he better fight in Mexico where the prefight and postfight inspections aren't as stringentComment

I still think margarito beats Most top guys at 154. He got screwed in the second Cotto fight he was coming on strong. Say what u want about marg cheating, his speed, or whatever else but he's still arguably the toughest, most relentless, and best conditioned fighter of his era. I'm shocked that anyone would think that a bum like kirkland who has proved nothing in the sport and has looked terrible lately would even have a chance against him.Comment
