toney 248 for tonights fight and this could be his last fight

http://www.********boxing.com/news.php?p=31493&more=1By James Slater - The weights are in for tonight's IBA heavyweight title fight between modern day legend James Toney and all-round tough guy Bobby Gunn.

"Lights Out," who had scaled a low 199 for his losing effort against Denis Lebedev in November, has clearly gone back to his old ways, tipping in at a hefty 248; the second highest weight of Toney's pro career..

Gunn, looking in far better shape, came in at 210.

Is Toney taking tonight's fight seriously? Could We see the end of this once great fighter tonight? As recently as a couple of years ago, we'd all have felt Toney would have too much skill and class for bareknuckel champ Gunn, but now - who knows?

With the extra poundage, combined with how shot he looked against Lebedev, Toney just might come a cropper against a determined, take no for an answer "Celtic Warrior." It's been a long time since Toney stopped anyone that's for sure.

Toney might have enough left to be able to contain Gunn and win a dull decision. But the younger, hungrier, better conditioned Gunn is without a doubt a live underdog.

i see an upset in the making. i love toney but 49lbs in 4 months is pretty crazy & its obvious he didn't train hard so he could lose tonight. this will be his last fight if he loses.

That has been Toney's problem throughout his career. A lot of what ifs with Toney's career .... meaning, what if he was more disciplined. What kind of a career he could have had?

Toney is gonna end up worse than Ali (God forbid). Have you heard the man talk lately?

he was a decent heavyweight after the jirov fights but then let himself get to round & he still was good. i wonder if there will be stream tonight for this fight. he knocked out holyfield, had a draw with rahman, beat ruiz, should have went 1-1 vs peter. had some good fights at HW for a guy who is 5'9...
