it's also imporant to note that while floyd's style has certainly been refined over the years under roger, it's his father who taught him how to fight.
just look at a floyd mayweather training session and you'll how little roger is involved, really.
floyd's very much self taught at this stage in the game.
still, if mayweather got a trainer of the year i wouldnt scoff at it. the guy knows how to get floyd sharp as hell.Comment

I would like to think so. I mean its hard to get how PBF has won fighter of the year but the guy who trained him doesn't get trainer of the year. Not saying just because somebody wins fighter of the year the trainer should the award for training.Comment

Not unless he does it with other guys.
Roach had success with Pacquiao, Khan, Chavez Jr etc, even less heralded winners like Enzo Calzaghe had several fighters as Champions and doing well like Calzaghe, Maccarinelli, Rees, Cleverly all undefeated under him.Comment
