There's always a chance. With anybody, any sport and anywhere. Part of it just depends if luck is on your side or not.

Yes he does have a chance. But hes gonna need to stick to his game plan
of outboxing rios and not trading punches with rios.Hes gonna need to
        work on his stamina also.

The only reason I don't really give him a shot is because he isn't winning no decision.

probably the only guy on the forum who has seen abril live

                  i've met him
spoke with him through an interpreter in his locker room after the lundy loss. he had his head in his hands. it was hard to tell how tall he was until he sat up. he's a bit taller than i am, and i'm 5'9". big LW.

he's a very solid boxer. uses his reach well. good legs. not blinding but fast enough to beat rios to the punch if he can stay off the ropes. he likes to lean on//fend off his opponent with his lead hand and pull him down or push him to the ground. rios will probably be too strong for that. abril will have to set his feet to punch then, instead of just boxing.

that's my guess, anyway. abril will box and pick his spots to try and impress the judges and get respect. a bit like campillo did against cloud.

as a youth he was on the cuban national team. guy had a very good amateur career. his losses were all disputed. i thought he beat lundy, and i had one of the best seats in the house. he knocked him down.

rios decision. if weight is an issue for bam bam it could be a very close fight.

and then of course there's always the possibility that bam bam is just way too much for richard, who is not a phenomenal physical force

i'd love to see richard give a good showing and make his way back to the networks. he's a good fighter who has had some hard luck.

                    that's the rub

he's not a huge puncher. rios has a great chin when he's healthy

and the scorecards... abril is not winning on them
