na prefer subtitles to keep it authentic, nothing worse than a film thats filmed in the slums of another country and they all speak perfect english!
still the subtitles can be english friendly, as in; not so much to read at one time, bit like apocolypto, more visual than talking...that would work for a boxing film if the acting is spot on...
but Usher??!?!?...hmmmm...suppose Eminem pulled it off in 8mile...we'll see...

Gael Garcia Bernal is a really fcuking legit actor. Just cause he's not some action star doesn't mean he's not gonna be good.

He's gonna absolutely kill it as Duran...that much is for sure. I don't know about the rest of the movie.

NYCsmooth, please dont quit your job to become a casting director. The sheer ignorance is astounding. Cannot believe you are complaining about Robert DeNiro, one of the greatest living actors in America, appearing in a boxing movie. Please check out a little movie called Raging Bull and report back to us on whether DeNiro can convincingly play a role. Just becuase he isnt a physical clone of Arcel means nothing. And Usher's scenes will mostly be in the ring and I am quite sure he can recreate Ray Leonard's footwork.

I agree. He's one of my favorite actor and since the news came out last year I've been pretty excited for it.
