Oh i see floyd is deserving of no1 off of JMMs back. Cos Floyd beat bloated JMM he deserves no1 am i right? Well Floyd hasnt shown he can beat Pac, so he should be happy with no2.
Fighters tend to be defined by their weight class, hence why weight classes exist. Marquez a world class 135lb fighter.

Sergio 'struggling' with opponents? Losing some rounds to guy's in fights that you are winning, and then win by KO in the end, is very different to being outboxed and then saved by the judges.

Mayweather beating Marquez isn't why he's #1, since his return to the ring in 2009 he has lost a combined 3 rounds...in 3 fights that people were considering 'close fights' before they took place. Being serious, who was the last opponent Manny fought who was considered a real threat? Cotto...yet he should still have an L in his last outing.

You say Mayweather hasn't shown he can beat Pac, you are aware that Pac hasn't shown he can beat Mayweather either, yes? - I'm not even interested in Pac or Mayweather, it's just clear to a neutral eye.

people are consistently uttering the words "well what have you done for me lately" in terms of a counter as to why pacquiao should not be #1

floyd has a fight once a year, and his last outing was sht because he spoiled a competitive fight(although winning all the rounds, some people would argue ortiz winning the second) with a sucker punch that honestly doesn't deserve to keep him up there as #1

pacquiao had two fights last year, one against shane mosley, and the other an arguable win vs marquez, marquez moves up because he had an arguable win vs pacquiao, pacquiao stays #1 because he has an arguable win vs marquez too

it's sucker-punched ortiz vs mosley and marquez

and i see people consistently mentioning "pacquiao lost to marquez who floyd dominated"

if you look back a couple of pages you'll see the difference in marquez's body
top it off with the already bigger floyd not ever bothering to make weight

and bringing that up as an excuse as to why you should have floyd over pacquiao then you have to bring manny's fights from 2009 too, which was a ko over hatton and a tko over cotto

hatton and cotto > marquez floyd fought

look at wht they have done every year, and pacquiao has had the notch over floyd everytime
fightin once a year just doesn't cut it

            Ortiz spoiled that fight.

He let his frustration get the better of him and head-butted Mayweather. There is no 'sucker-punch' without the headbutt.
