gamboa is a complete, utter joke. you don't even need april fools day.

they're all the same. they all want to get rid of their promoters when they become stars. then they fight once a year. duck fights. avoid certain fighters. there's absolutely no benefit for the fans. he's not even a star yet.

if only gamboa had seen the rios fight as an opportunity to make a name for himself he would have been a huge star. rios is not a walk in the park. but that's the thing. he doesn't have to win the fight. all he has to do is train hard and fight a competitive fight. and he would still become a star. he would have been offered the money he wanted on his next fight.

unfortunately, that's not the way he saw it.

This at at a time when fans want alternative big fights that would potentially have a ripple effect in the sport. Fans are simply sick of the back and forth arguments in the Floyd/Pac fight.

Gamboa is not even there yet. I can't imagine when he's on top. I'd expect retirement, vacation, duck fights. This is what fans want nowadays.

DeCubas Sr., the middleman and close friend of Gamboa, confirmed every detail we printed and he doesn't understand why Gamboa did what he did, but he said the boxer does want to work something out to remain with Top Rank.
Im not questioning what you're saying but Gamboa wanting to stay with Top Rank and wanting R. Mayweather to train him sounds like an oxymoron. Why would Arum want a Mayweather to make money off of one of his fighters and would would a Mayweather wanna train a TR fighter that would make more money for that company? However if this does happen, Gamboa training with a Mayweather while being promoted by Top Rank, that would be a pretty funny thing to see.

That isn't going to happen. Gamboa might as well consider his fighting career over, at least for the next couple of years.

Arum should just let this Gamboa guy go. Let him hang out with his famous friend, a part-time boxer, set up his own 24/7, sell fights that involve easy fights. That's what they all want in this day and age.

Can Gamboa be any more of a fool? Not that I don't enjoy seeing Bob being put in his place but this is career suicide by Gamboa.
