LOL, The Great White Hype I feel presents an interesting look into the sport~

That was a good satire. I think some of the humor would go over some people's heads if they don't really know the sport.

Another somewhat cheesy movie that I actually enjoyed was Undefeated. I liked the script writing, with the old man talking about boxing.

Unlike, say, Million Dollar Baby, I got the impression that the screenwriter had a real knowledge of the sport.

As well as a true appreciation of it.

Rocky is the most overrated piece of s**t movie of all-time. In terms of being overrated, it's right up there with Titanic no doubt.

I liked Ali alright, Will Smith did a pretty good job. But, it's such a hard role to portray really well, and they left out the Thrilla in Manila which sucks. Will Smith did get nominated for an Academy award though.

Raging Bull is still the best boxing movie ever in my opinion. I know you want something JUST about boxing, but that is the best boxing movie ever.

The Fighter was pretty good I guess. Great White Hope is good. Cinderella Man is pretty good. Million Dollar Baby was real good.

I really want to watch a good boxing movie.. But before you say Raging Bull or Rocky, that's not what I meant. Those are great movies but not really about boxing itself (Just look at the actual boxing scenes) Rocky is a rags to riches story and Raging Bull is a character study on Lamotta's violent behavior and it's effect on his life. What I meant is a movie that's truly about the sport itself. With full of trivia, references etc a deep look and a tribute to the Sweet Science. A film thats made by, and for, someone with great knowledge and love of pugilism.

Anybody know any movies like that? Preferably not a documentary..

I have never seen such a movie. Period. I wish I could though.

boxing is kinda secondary in most boxing movies. Maybe Gladiator if I remember right
