    Movies About Boxing?

I really want to watch a good boxing movie.. But before you say Raging Bull or Rocky, that's not what I meant. Those are great movies but not really about boxing itself (Just look at the actual boxing scenes) Rocky is a rags to riches story and Raging Bull is a character study on Lamotta's violent behavior and it's effect on his life. What I meant is a movie that's truly about the sport itself. With full of trivia, references etc a deep look and a tribute to the Sweet Science. A film thats made by, and for, someone with great knowledge and love of pugilism.

Anybody know any movies like that? Preferably not a documentary..

I just watched that movie. If you're into high tech graphics then you'll like it. If you're looking for a strong story line this is not the film for you. I thought that it was garbage besides the cool looking fighting robots. They shot part of that movie like 3 miles from my apartment.

If you're looking for a cool boxing story check out Steel by Richard Matheson. It's a short story but still much more entertaining than Real Steel.......Rockin'

I would recommend Million Dollar Baby. I think it is a great boxing movie since it shows the relationship between trainer and fighter better than other boxing movies I have seen. It's hard for me to explain; but, it is a great boxing movie. I guess what makes it good is the reality of it. It is believable whereas other boxing movies are sometimes silly or not believable.

Only problem with Million Dollar Baby is that it stops being a boxing movie. It becomes more about the father-daughter relationship between two characters, so it might fall more under the "Raging Bull" category of boxing movie than a movie about boxing.

Cinderalla man is a decent movie, if you are a boxing fan, you will enjoy it for sure

                  edit

its more about an underdog story, describing how people used to fight for pennies, even injured like 40-50 years ago, then shows how far heart can get you in boxing
