Khan either needs to
1. double the amount of stamina he had in the first fight or
2. a lot of training on inside fighting. Both would be hard to attain. Or he may also
3. need to pack more power to his punches. His combo seems to be working, but if it is not enough to stop his opponent, a lot of moving around is required especially against a guy who keeps on coming.
It's possible that number three could happen and stop Peterson this time. On the other hand, Peterson stopping Khan (or beating him in the score cards) depends on number two.
Khan may well be developing into a boxer with a style close to SRL's.
