Erik Morales getting SHUTOUT by "Zahir Raheem"

It's a sad, sad, SAD day when people are legitimately questioning whether Erik Morales is an all time great fighter. The trolls I can handle, but there are people actually wondering whether he is an ATG in here.

So where do you rank Morales in regards to his fistic era, and then in totality of all fistic eras? I got him at 9th from his era. . . And 85th of all time.

So i would say Morales ranks about 20-25ish of the last 45 years

Erik Morales is probably a top 60 Great. ATG gets thrown around a lot. There are some who just like to keep it to the top 25 guys for their ATG critera, others are more lienient. BUT there is no question Morales is a great, great fighter.

what stands out to me the most about this fight is not that Raheem shut him out but its that the media & fans gave Pac so much credit for the 2 wins after Raheem had just shut him out like EM was the same guy at that point. He wasnt and Pac shouldnt have gotten the credit that he got for those wins.

Not only that but I thought that after Pac stopped him the 1st time, what was so justified for them to have the 3rd fight in the very next fight? He had just lost like 20 straight rounds and had been KO. Not only did everyone accept the 3rd fight but they again gave Pac mad credit for the quick KO. It was mind boggling to me

Erik Morales was shut out by a c class fighter in Zahir Raheem who in turned was shut out by Acelino Freitas while Erik Morales went on to lose 3 more fights IN A ROW.

What are your thoughts (you probably didn't think) on him being shut out by Raheem, YET he's a supposed all time great?

Raheem was NO class C fighter, he was a slippery excellent boxer who took chances and used his skills. He should have been a champion, but was very badly promoted-Freitas was a class A killer then only beaten by Corrales in a classic fight. He played Morales as if he were a child. This fight started Morales' slide, and whilst Morales did the correct thing in collecting a few good paychecks, the last MannyP KO showed how badly his legs were gone and how far he'd slidden. He did the correct thing in retiring.

Even so, he was better at retirement than he's been in his comeback. and if he thinks differently, he's fooling himself.

Zaragoza = old fighter who had been ko'd & had tremendous amounts of mileage. the morales fight was his very LAST fight for goodness sakes HAHAHAAHAHAHA

That's cool but he had 2 overall solid wins going into the Morales fight, Zaragoza is from the Nacho Beristein school of fighting. Overall had the better resume, skill for skill, IQ for IQ was the better fighter.

Morales was washed up after back to back WARS against Barrera and Pacquiao IN LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS then he moved up in weight to fight Raheem
