Comments Thread For: Nacho: It Was Sad To See What Happened To Erik Morales

Trainer and manager Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain said it was sad to see what happened to Tijuana's Erik "Terrible" Morales (52-8, 36KOs) last weekend when he lost a twelve round unanimous decision against American Danny Garcia in Houston, Texas. Like his own fighter, Juan Manuel Marquez, Nacho believes Morales, 35-years-old, can still remain a force in the sport.

Morales lost a close fight in my eyes he did great except the KD against him. He was about to KO danny in that 11th round and than BAM he got caught.

Maybe he should get in better shape or just hang them up.

Marquez and Nacho want Morales to come over and join their camp .

Nobody wants to see good ol' Morales go. I mean really, who doesn't enjoy his fights .

            Nothing but respect for Morales.

sounds like nacho is giving him an invitation to train with him

it was open scoring that night ... it probably deflated Morales to hear the score .... but the scores were wrong as that fight was closer than what they said at round 4 and 8 ....

If morales had marquez's work ethic he would do alright in the sport still.

Marquez eats quail eggs runs in the mountains . lift boulders at high altitudes etc....

Morales is like delahoya just lazy . he needs to hang em up no dedication whatsoever .

                  Disrespectful.

Every single of one morale's fights has been a war. They take a toll on your body. You have no right to call him lazy.

The fact that he's even competive right now against guys in their prime at this high a level when he's only a shadow of himself is a testament to his great skill.

You hit the nail right on the head. Unfortunately, this is something that not too many people are mentioning. The fact that the crooked judges had Garcia widely ahead by the 8th round made Morales open up more than what he needed; which is how the knockdown occurred... The Texan commission is one of the worst I've seen as of late. They will absoloutely sellout to the highest bidder. If you guys remember correctly, the same thing happened when Rocky Juarez fought Jorge Barrios. Barrios was well ahead on that fight but suspected he was gonna get robbed by the judges. This made him open up more to try to get the knockout but ended up getting caught and knockdown (and eventually cut). After the fight was stopped because of the cut, the judges somehow had Juarez ahead. It was absolutely unbelievable!!
