Comments Thread For: Sulaiman: HBO Stole Sergio Martinez's Title, Not The WBC

Sergio Martinez is chasing after the championship that he claims the World Boxing Council took away. He wants the green belt which Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wears around his waist. WBC President Sulaiman claims that his organization is not at fault. He blames cable network HBO. He says the network refused to approve mandatory challenger Sebastian Zbik and instead approved a fight between Martinez and Sergei Dzinziruk. The WBC had no choice but to take the title and make Zbik the champion. Chavez would later decision Zbik to win the belt.

this is fucken ridiculous, why did Sergio have to fight Zbik? why did he have to make a title defense against him when other current WBC champions aren't even fighting there mandatories? Just stfu already Sulaiman.

If Martinez was a cashcow in the sport, the WBC would easily bend over and make its nose brown instead of stripping the belt away. Look at what they're doing with the other cashcows.

"But Martinez had to make a mandatory defense, and the Council could not step aside. We have to respect the order, we must respect the laws of the WBC."

oh, stfu. if martinez was mexican or had a fanbase/promoter like pacquiao or canelo they wouldn't say anything. bunch of horsecrap like it's always been. watch the chavez jr fight not get made in september or later this year and chavez will still be having that belt. boxing is so pathetic at times.

Right. HBO is the bad guy for not allowing we in the boxing public the unmitigated pleasure of watching the legitimate Champion of the World fight the division's #19 or #20 contender. For shame, HBO!

That is the most ******ist/ridiculious bull**** i''ve ever read!! Now how many voluntary defenses has fake ar*se Jr made, anyone pls - 3? It would be a different situation if Jr's surname was something else. How corrupt can Suliaman be, he must be good friends with Arum? Before it used to be Suliaman/Don King Inc. lately it's Suliaman/Arum Inc.

Just when you think its totally impossible for this organization to become more of a joke then Sulaiman opens his mouth again.
