Sulaiman can make it all good again if he upholds his order to Weasel Jr. to fight Martinez, his mandatory. If the fight is not signed within the month of April and Chavez fights someone else in June without first having the Martinez fight in place, the WBC should strip him.

Nice way of trying to pass the blame, Anyways Chavez is getting more experience and am sure he would give Martinez a better fight than previously anticipated.

I know I'm gonna sound ****** for saying this. I kind of agree with Sulaiman. Zbik was the mandatory ever since Pavlik was champion. Putting yourself in Zibik's position for a second, it really isn't fair for him never to get a shot at the belt because HBO won't approve the fight. While there was the option for Martinez to fight Zibik off tv, it would have killed all the momentum he built from 2010. That's why I thought the emeritus champion thing was a good compromise had Sulaiman only kept his word about Martinez being the immediate mandatory.

There's a couple caveats though. It still bothers me because the WBC isn't consistent on enforcing the rules. He should enforce the rules for everyone, not just Martinez. Second, it's highly likely Sulaiman and HBO colluded to give the belt to Chavez, but I have no evidence of this.

So the WBC is sayin HBO made us do it? Who do they blame for all their other bad moves over the last few years? The Discovery Channel?

Problem is that WBC fail to mention that they made Sergio Diamond Champion, so he has a right to fight for Chavez' title when he requests.

Besides they keep letting other fighters delay their mandatory, so why couldn't they let Martinez fight Zbik after Dzinziruk?

Guess what? IT IS SERGIO'S FAULT. . REMEMBER! He was the WBC champion at 154 pounds! AND, since he claims he is so much more "NATURAL" at this weight, why did he not choose to stay champion at 154? MOREOVER, DZINZ IS A NATURAL 154 pounder, WHO HAD ANOTHER BELT @ 154?! So why would Sergio not make it a UNIFICATION fight for his WBC belt, and DZINZ's WBO BELT?!

HAHAHAHA , ill tell you why.. because Sergio IS NOT a natural 154 pounder anymore! He has to struggle to make the weight!!!

Cutting 3 pounds would physically kill him like Chisora.

In a way it kind of is Martinez's fault though. He holds the middle weight title in really high regard, which is why I think he kept it..and he had the P.Will fight coming up, which was a no brainer to stay at 160 for that, especially with nobody willing to fight Sergio at 154 anyway. Then again, the guy claims to lose too much weight so I imagine he never considered it an issue to be at 154 or 160 since he could easily go back down and fight 160 guys while making offers at 154. Nothing wrong with that imo. I bet he'd have stayed had Pac fought him for his title.

                      WTF

Martínez won the *interim* WBC superwelterweight belt back in 2008 and then moved up to 160 to land the bigger and better fights. At that point in his career it was the only reasonable path he could take to build his resume and make a strong name for himself. No way he would be where he's now without the Pavlik and Williams wins. Finally, he only fought Dzinziruk at middle cause he was forced to (and btw, I rank that as a good win, certainly better than the Barker and Macklin ones).
