More fighters should train at night like floyd

Like him, hate him, or indifferent....floyd has the most effective training schedule in boxing.

Im wondering why more fighters don't train at night. It modifies your biological clock to be at it's peak performance at night when fights take place. It is also cooler at night which makes it more comfortable when running and getting out of the gym which reduces the risk of cramps and eases soreness.

    I must say, I agree.

Boxing has a lot of tradition.

Most of these trainers are well into their late 50's early 60's and are still using outdated training methods.

This is why you still see guys lifting giant rubber tires and swinging sledgehammers. Running at 4AM (for some of the same reasons you've mentioned), going up sand dunes, lifting heavy weights and so on.

Physical training in boxing has evolved very very slowly.

Up-to-date nutrition in boxing is almost not existent.

I agree. Hell, it even lets people that need to work during the day make money, then hit training later on. Thats what I used to do kind of in highschool. Run 6 miles before school, go home, another mile for a warm up then hard training at night after supper.

I still remember back when Hatton fought Tszyu, the fight was going be at like 2 or 3 am and Hatton trained accordingly to get his body on that schedule while Tzsyu was like screw it working out is working out. Hatton was able to maintain his level while Tszyu faded.

Still seems like a very wise way to train.

Its scientifically proven to be a wise way to train.

Although I doubt floyd started doing it for that purpose. He probably just stumbled upon it because he wanted to party all night and was too lazy to get up in the morning.

IM not sure how training at 1 am 2 months before a fight will help adjust to a 7pm fight

Also fighters train in different places with different climates
