Sad loss to the boxing world, he will be missed, iconic figure who's knowledge about boxing history second to none. Had great anecdotes about almost every boxing situation, and great passion for boxing.

      RIP Bert.

One hell of a boxing historian, now he's history himself..I guess them cigars finally did their job on him..What a shame..But Sugar lived the way he wanted to & enjoyed it & that's all that matters..

(By the way, for those wondering Q.E.P.D. is R.I.P in Spanish)
No, it was not about Manny. As a matter of fact he stated that JMM beat Pacquiao the first two fights. I wonder what he thought about the third fight.
He will be remembered in the boxing world as one the not only historians, but a true boxing fan. R.I.P.

            i met bert suger

i'm from atlantic city and my ex girlfriend worked at the irish pub. She called me one night telling me bert sugar was at the bar drinking in there. It was right after the Gatti -Gomez fight.I came over sat down next to him and started talking boxing with him. Not only would he not let me buy his drinks, he bought mine. Bert was a cool dude and will be missed by the boxing circle. It's a sad day for boxing.
