  • You know... This is probably overblown. I really can't decide- Floyd doesn't have much of a filter and sometimes I think he just makes it too easy to pull these kinds of quotes..

After a 2nd read it doesn't seem as bad to me. But initially- this really is kind of a weird statement on his part.

Track record, Floydy duck the tough fights.

I'll bets all my points with anyone that wants it that Floyd will not fight Sergio Martinez next.

LOL beats them? He won't even fight them?

Fights aren't fought on paper they are fought in the ring, but seems Floyd will have to settle for great wins on paper because he lacks them in the ring.

Who wouldn't want to see Sergio and Floyd at junior middleweight? Nobody is safe going into a fight with Sergio so it might be the best selling fight in the last 5 years.

            2. Erislandy Lara
This fight is also a fight worth watching, with two technical fighters and Erislandy is a difficult opponent for everyone so many boxing fans would love to see this fight happening.
Great call with Lara, but alas Floyd won't fight him too.

Get ready for the excuse, who is Lara? He is not a PPV attraction and Paul Williams beat him.

                • People are funny. Floyd says that he isn't looking to fight 6 strong champions, meaning that all of his last fights won't be against title holders. We have no idea who he wants to fight after Cotto. We just know that he is open to Manny, Martinez, and will likely give Canelo a fight as well. Other than them, who is there for him to really fight? Amir Khan? By the time he hits 35-36 he might change his mind and hang up the gloves do to father time. At least he is still looking to fight some more. We will see how it turns out over time.

How can any fan justify this?
" Who are the 5 STRONG champions in the game right now he should fight? You can't have it both ways, meaning don't 8!tch about Sanctioning bodies stripping fighters and putting straps on ticket sellers, then knock Floyd for stating the obvious. A STRONG champion is one who deserves to be called a champion based on merit, and not popularity alone. Martinez has been stripped of 2 straps that were given to ticket selling fighters, yet people were crying that Mayweather shouldn't have fought Canelo on May 5th because he was too Green.

Boxing has become a hyperbole of media propaganda to satisfy uneducated fans with short attention spans, and who don't truly appreciate the history of the sport. In conclusion, he can't fight 5 STRONG champions, because the politics of the sport today won't allow fighters to become it."
