Brook vs Hatton gets record ratings on Sky sports

    http://news.boxrec.com/news/2012/bro...winner-tv-fans

They don't say the number in the article but word is it got 450k viewers. They're saying this is the most watched non-PPV boxing event on Sky sports ever. Something I personally think is promoter spin because Eddie Hearn has been gloating for a while now that some of his events have managed over 1 million viewers. According to Sky boxing is the second most watched sport after football in the UK.

Whether it is the most watched these are undoubtedly impressive numbers for an untested twenty five year old.

Good exposure for Brook, but I think the Hatton name will have helped generate a strong degree of interest in this bout.

COMPLETE ******ITY on your part. But then again I'm not SURPRISED. No one has released the figures and there's been no word from SKY SPORTS just his promoter eddie Hearn BARKING off as usual. Creating a SMOKE SCREEN maybe?

And I capitalised because I know your ******ed ass likes to highlight key words.

Not exactly. Cricket gets around 300-400k on average with the ****es while formula 1 rarely appears on the top 10 list for Sky sports at BARB, I don't think it has at all since the renewed deal. The most watched cricket match this month had 390k viewers. One thing that gives boxing the extra edge is that the replays are actually counted into the over all viewers, so this will probably reach 800k viewers when all's said and done.

These are all available on the BARB website. Sky originally cancelled Formula 1 due to their low ratings on their network, they're taking a second swing at it now and apparently the results aren't much better. Football is the only sport that gets over 500k viewers reguarly. And as I said in the OP there have been reports about boxing matches getting over 1 million viewers so I don't know what this record stuff is about. There were some Haye and Calzaghe fights which pushed 1.5 million. I don't think there's any cricket match that has gotten that on Sky.

Although it has been said darts recent ratings on Sky have been pushing the envelope.

i dont think u can really judge F1 at the moment since the races r starting at 6/7 on a sunday morning, when they come 2 europe n north amercia more people will watch it. If the figure 4 brook/hatton is 450,000 then thts good figures when u consider the super 6 final in the usa only did 500,000
