It has and so has pushing without warning and Khan was warned and penalized for it. Not everyone enforces these rules but they're there to be enforced if the ref deems it. It's like a law for people hanging something from their rear view mirror. No, you rarely get pulled over for it but if a cop wants to, he can.

    He certainly could have been!

You could take a point away, you could issue a warning-- you don't deprive the fans of seeing Kirland KO Molina.

People who are claiming this was OK are just trying to be ******s.
It's up to the ref. All refs are different, they let certain things slide and other things not slide. If anything maybe the rules should be changed to be up to speed with todays boxing or maybe they should be interrupted better.

      late knockout from kirkland.

i was at the fight. molina should have had points taking away for all the holding and head butting so either way it was by far the ugliest fight i have seen in a long time.

I think the reason Molina got DQ'ed for this fight is because it was a stinker not because that corner man, even though that's the given excuse I think it's because of all the spoiling done throughout the whole fight I also noticed the referee leaning through the ropes was he listening to someone or was he calling the fight a outright DQ?
        I'm not sure...

The best DQ/controversial ending I have ever seen.

Boxing was saved last night, from Carlos Molina. How can you want a guy like that to win?

I mean, Ward and Hopkins have nothing on this dude. The people bringing up Ward and Hopkins are ******ed.

Rules are pretty cut and dry, especially in this circumstance so really you should be pi$$ed at Molinas corner and not the ref and especially not Kirkland. A lot of you wear your hearts on your sleeve.
Oh....I see but when Floyd's dad caused riot and entered the ring throwing stools against Judah the rules didn't apply I guess?

Who should we be pissed at for them not getting disqualified in that fight....I mean justice needs to be done right? Afterall, the rules are the rules

I agree what you're saying about Hopkins but what Molina was doing last night was stuff I've seen Andre Ward do before.

The bottom line is that Kirkland is a billable fighter for HBO and a money maker..Molina was not. Molina was dominating the fight (who cares about the holding when other fighters do it all day long and no one says a peep) this was their opportunity to have Kirkland win the fight because if those schit scores were announced publicly, they know they would have to deal with another investigation...they didn't want that so they DQ'd him.

I've already addressed this. Floyd certainly could of been dq'ed. That ref didn't enforce it so it continued. Rules are rules but they aren't always enforced but if they are, you can't really complain about it.

And in this case I don't think the knockdown was clear whether it was a knockdown or not, or whether it happened before the bell rang. The ref completely messed up the situation, and screwed over Molina.

No, other than the 10th Molina basically fought exactly the same as Ward did against Green and Froch, just to give recent examples. Lots of people are embarrassed about picking Kirkland last night, and are going to act like Molina was doing something no one else does.
