No he didn't. That's Oscar's over all body of work. That Oscar gets stopped by saturday's Martinez. Heroic effort though.

The Oscar Floyd fought was a part time fighter. Keep it real, but please try again.

Sorry if I was unclear/confused in my language.
What I meant was that the Cotto that Pac faced, out of all the
WW that Pac or Floyd have fought, came closest to a present-day
Martinez-level challenge, and in Pac's particular case because
Pac was stepping up to quasi-WW (lol) for the first time. Relative
to THAT, yes, it would IMO come close to Pac going north of 147
(well, at weigh-in at least) a SECOND time, to face Sergio.

There's no question Sergio obliterates Cotto, so that's not what
        I'm getting at.

As for other WW faced by either Pac or Floyd...
Mosley was shot as hell, and Ortiz was a fucking joke.
Clottey? If he had actually tried to fight, you might have a case
for rating him higher than Cotto. You were talking about challenge
faced, however, and Cotto gave Pac more trouble than Clottey did.

So if Martinez beats Mayweather I should claim that Mayweather is only a part time fighter?

De La Hoya when Floyd fought him is in the same ball park as Martinez at 154lb.

I agree sergio is on level with pac and floyd, but he is bigger and puts (big) middel weights to sleep.

I think he would **** manny up and it would be a competitive fight with floyd.

There is nothing bad to say about macklin that enyone that knows boxing could use to discredit sergios chances against floyd/manny.
Macklin is prime, twice the size of manny, gave WBA camp felix sturm a ass wooping.
Yet sergio figured him showed class and knocked him down old school style.

Sergio is a great fighter and enyone that thinks otherwise dont know much about boxing

Martinez could never stop Oscar. Oscar's work at 154 is also far superior to Martinez'.

Let's see Martinez challenge Floyd and win more than 5-6 rounds like Oscar did.

Got nothing to do with Macklin.
Drain Sergio to 150 (his own offer) and he may gas after 5 rds.
Pac's not likely putting Sergio on his ass, but may win on sheer
workrate via UD/SD, and all people will remember is that a 138lb
runt beat a "MW" Sergio, never mind the fight/catch weight.

It'll not be as bad as the clusterfuck Oscar managed to put himself
in (the catchweight was his fucking idea, and he went overboard
draining, to boot), but pretty bad considering how big Martinez
really is, and the very real limit to how low he can go before really
                  damaging himself physically.

Martinez challenge Floyd?? Funny I get the feeling Martinez accepts the fight light years before Floyd does.

                      Good, I hope he does.

Does he win more than 6 rounds vs part time fighter Mayweather is the question.
