If Cotto lets Floyd walk him down, NO SHOT. If he tries to box with Floyd, NO SHOT. If he applies pressure and can get Floyd backing up, and cut off the ring from him, he has a shot. Victor cut the ring off from a couple times in the 2nd and 4th round against Floyd when he had him backing up, and he had some moments in those rounds. You have to cut the ring off once you get Floyd backing up, because if you don't, he'll just move around you and get back to the center of the ring. No one beats Floyd in the center of the ring and even when you have him on the ropes, its very difficult to land anything, as seen in Victor's last flurry before the headbutt, he landed 2-3 punches clean there, and people said that was his best moment in the fight.

I really see Floyd performing even better against Cotto in this fight, unless 154 lbs really affects him in anegative way, though I don't think so. He looked good at 154 against Oscar in 07', no way that fight was a SD, but Cotto has more left now than Oscar did at that point. He's past his prime-still good, where as Oscar was just past his prime. But, what Oscar did in that fight was not allow Floyd to start walkign him down, and instead he jumped all over Floyd and kept him on the ropes for the first 6-7 rounds. Even though he didn't land much, it must of had an impact on the judges cards, because they scored it a SD. But, like I said earlier, even if you get Floyd on the ropes, it's hard to land anything still. Floyd was tagging Oscar off the ropes, and did so against Ortiz too.

This time around, Floyd isn't come off a 16 month layoff like he did against Ortiz, and Ortiz is just as explosive as Cotto is, if not more so right now. I think Floyd will look even more sharp.
4cornerskid, i think cotto's best chances, in a fight with fmj, is to go back to his old style of fighting, which is to cut the ring off, apply that pressure, and look to land the left hook to fmj's, ribs all night...cotto, is going to be more natural than fmj @ 154 going in, so he should be able to jab in, and establish himself as the aggressor...4cornerskid, cotto is gonna eat hard leather, from fmj, coming in, but he should be able to take, fmj's punch for some rounds, to get his in..

As far as your Pac point that means absolutely nothing in this discussion. Pac brings things to the ring Mayweather doesn't like workrate, pressure, and explosive power. All of those things just happen to be Cotto's proven weaknesses. Your prediction of a Mayweather winis probably going to be right and I predict the same outcome but you're underestimating Cotto imo.
Don't think Cotto is that much of a class higher than Hatton.

                Especially this version.

That "old style" is still his style, he just can't execute it at the elite level.

He did it against Quintana, Judah, Gomez, Jennings, Foreman.

But he couldn't do it to Mosley, Margarito, Clottey, or Pacquiao.

And some of those fighters in the bottom list are not even elite, just good or were good at the time. Cotto just can't pull off his bullying, body punching style against actual good boxers. The best fighter he did it to was Zab Judah, and Judah was coming off two losses[Baldomir, Mayweather] and then after those two losses, he had 400+ days laid off, and Judah still managed to hang in there for 11 rounds.
