Kessler no win situation @ Super Middle

yeah Kessler moving up to LHW seems a bit from left field. I always wanted to see Kessler move up a weight class, but why now? I'll answer that below**

I guess with Froch-Bute happening, Ward still recovering from that hand injury and Stieglitz going forward with another challenger

"that the money is at 168 against Ward, Bute and Froch."

I'm sure you know Bute & Froch are fighting each other in May. Kessler already fought Froch, so if Froch gets by Bute, pretty unlikely he'll get Ward, and dunno how huge the demand would be for Froch-Kessler (another rematch )

and if Bute wins over Froch, no idea on the interest level a potential Bute-Kessler bout would be ... as don't you think if Bute gets by Froch the networks would look more toward making Bute-Ward

    oppose to Kessler-Ward 2 or Kessler-Bute

Bute-Ward on the other hand is a big time unification with the IBF/WBC/WBA belts all on the line, provided nobody gets stripped)

outside of Froch, Ward and Bute, Kessler certainly is one of the best @ Super Middle, but I don't think he has the pulling power that will make a Network WANT a Kessler fight don't forget, ESPECIALLY if Bute beats Froch, that sets the table perfectly for a potential Ward-Bute match up leaving Kessler in the dust

but it comes down to this: I just see Kessler staying @ Super Middle as a no win situation

as lets say Bute loses to Froch, cancelling that potential undefeated champ vs undefeated champ. Froch is the IBF champ and would likely want Andre Ward again ... Ward dominated Froch in the Super 6 Final and has no interest in fighting Froch meaning:

Kessler could step in and fight Froch .. but why go to all the trouble in fighting someone you already beat (Froch) when you really want Ward?

and we all know Ward won't fight Kessler right away because he already beat him, and the public demand for a Ward-Kessler rematch isn't at an all time high

so reading through that above cluster ****, maybe Kessler doesn't want to waste time waiting around @ Super Middle

I mean what's best case scenario for him (Kessler)

Bute winning? maybe, new challenge, but wouldn't Bute see Ward and think same thing?

Froch winning? great I get to fight this guy again.

with that said Kessler has better prospects @ Light Heavy. if he can't get B-Hop there's always Pascal, or Cloud or Shumenov.

You make a lot of good points but I think it's also worth mentioning that Kessler should know that he will have to come to the US to make a Ward fight, and neutral ground at the very least, to make a Froch fight.

At 175 I think Shumenov, Cloud, Cleverly or Pascal are potential targets who may be willing to go to Denmark for the right price.

It's also worth noting that he can take this bull**** fight, for the bullshi*t belt against Green, and show up at 170 lbs and still kick Green's 175lb butt.

If a big fight at 168 falls into his lap then he takes it and he isnt really dropping back down. If it doesn't happen, he has the bull**** belt and ranking to make a move at 175.

Bute-Kessler would be huge. The canadiens want that fight bad as Kessler whooped their very own Lucas.

Froch-Kessler II would always do well given the fireworks of their first encounter.

Ward-Kessler II is the fight Kessler wants and Ward wants it too given the controversy and foul play of the first fight.

LHW simply isn't Kessler's weight division and there isn't many big names. I doubt Hopkins wanting to fight Kessler. He already turned down a 4M USD offer years ago. Dawson is IMO a bad option and after these 2 there's noone known to other than real hard core fans.

Kessler is a soft wimp picking the easiest fights

Kessler sickens me by having a career on easy fights and faking injuries to keep the softest opponents. Typical danish wimp is all Kessie is not a fighter but more of a ballet dancer.

this fight would never make it to american TV

i can guarantee that. showtime and HBO wouldnt touch that fight with a ten foot pole. they might not even take it for free

kessler's a real man, dude. what fights have you been watching?

a wimp doesnt even sign the contract for the Super six (other than green, who was tired of living in his mother's basement.)

I don't know about that. I believe that Ward was on a shortlist of potential Kessler opponents that would make US tv. I think Sauerlland said so, but frankly I don't know whether its true or not. Sauerlands credit has for me taken a hit in the last months.

All no. 1 contenders or champions. One of them KTFO Lucian Bute. Yet they are all awful.
