look at what he did to botha, grant, golota & ruddock.he crushed them. look at what he did to a prime briggs(5 rds with 4 knockdowns i believe). lewis wasn't afraid to vacate a title instead of fighting an inferior mandatory. how do you think ruiz ever got a title? how do you think holyfield got another title after? lewis didn't waste his time on duds like mormeck, sosnowski, kingpin, etc. he would have vacated his title if juan carlos gomez was his mandatory. lewis had great fights with ray mercer & frank bruno. holyfield & tyson wanted no part of him until they were broke & needed money.it's as simple as that. he was cautious against dangerous opponents like tua but who wasn't? considering tua knock out 4 former world champions. lewis made VOLUNTARY defences vs golota, bruno, grant, tyson, briggs, holyfield, rahman, mccall, vitali klitschko. that's 7 voluntary defences vs former world champions. he never took the easy path when he wasn't fighting mandatories. so anyone who says he ducked vitali or was overrated is either a bitter nuthugger or doesn't know very much about HW boxing.he is top 3 all-time.

I knew you would come with Klitschko never fought Ruiz, just shows you compare Lewis to the brothers as well since they are close to equal fighters. But IF Wlad or Vitali would've faced him you'd just go on and ramble about the brothers fightig old guys like Briggs or Rahman. Hater's double standards.Comment

Lennox wants to rip the Klitschko's for sub par opponents, that's because the entire division is SUB PAR. If Lennox Lewis thinks he can add any star power to it, then drag his gutless british ass into the think of things, and fight Vitali again, who was giving Lennox the beatdown of his life, before there fight was stopped on a deep gash of Vitali's eyebrow, from laces on Lennox' glove. Countryman David Haye has proven to be a fraud; all talk and absolutely NO game. Lennox did the same thing with Rid**** Bowe back in the day. Lennox danced away from trouble in the amateurs from Rid****, but wouldn't fight Bowe in the Pros. With the exception to the Klitschko bros, the entire Heavyweight Division is nothing but tomato cans. The worst this division has looked in history. That's not the Klitschkos fault; they knock out everyone put in front of them. If Lennox thinks he brings anything to the dance, then step right up. Until a 20 something resembling a young chissled Mike Tyson, or Evander Holyfield comes into play, this division is Closed for Business. Nothing to do with the Klitschkos.Comment

he got a chance vs a semi-retired lewis & didn't get it done & lewis was going to give wladimir a shot if he got past sanders. watch the HBO telecast. rahman was in the same position when he fought sanders which was one of the best HW fights in the last 15 years. rahman go screwed in a fight he was clearly winning vs tua. hit after the bell & the fight was stopped prematurely so lennox gave rahman the benefit of the doubt. he said you beat sanders you got me. he got off the floor twice to come back & beat sanders. his next fight he knocked out an over confident\ too busy filming movies to train lennox. lewis gave wladimir the same opportunity as rahman beat sanders & you get your shot....we all know what happened.Originally posted by KingvitaliComment

lol! he had nothing more to prove... so what! how often have you heard a guy saying that he'd give him a rematch? you fight holyfield twice & then tyson everything else is a letdown. he gave vitali a shot on the goodness of his heart & called it a day. he got all the money he needed from those 3 huge PPVs & retired. he wasn't going to make nearly the money fighting vitali again no matter what people say he offered. he said so many times i'll fight again for 100 million but no one offered that. of course no one did because he wanted to retire & sail into the sunset...Comment

its all the Klitschko's fault!!! Even though their opponents are garbage, if they went in there and kicked ass and destroyed them nobody would be complaining. But they are content with boxing, not taking any risks at all even though they are far superior in size and skill. The Klitschko brothers are a disgrace to the sport. They are the equilvelent to an NFL team always playing a college team and simply running the ball on them for 4 quarters cause they are too scared to risk an interception and then finally throw the ball once the poor kids are exhausted and gave it their all. They're a joke, plus their theatre and antics with their 2 hour long intros to their fights are ridiculous, an embarrassment to boxing.Comment
