USADA/WADA is expensive...VADA by all accounts is very cost friendly.

        • I didn't hear anything from these same idiots about Hopkins and Ward.

Stop this foolishness. If you have to crucify one, you have to do the same thing with others. Otherwise, you'll just look like fools.

          • Who can blame him Remember in 2009, Chavez Jr. tested positive for the banned substance furosemide which is a very strong diuretic used to help cut weight in short periods of time. He was suspended for nine months following that incident. Then this last Feb he managed to skip the regular post fight piss test by the WBC via the Texas Athletic Commission

Apparently the negotiations have been called off by Arum. They will say it is about money but here is the real story: I was called last week by Top Rank re: my T/E ratio story. Bob claimed he wanted to reference it in a speech he was to give at the Cleveland Clinic about fighter safety. A couple days ago, Bob reached out to a source of mine who is an Anti-Doping expert and well-respected in the community. Bob claimed he wanted clarity on my article for a speech he was giving at Harvard. What he was really was asking this guy to shoot down the idea that we need blood testing in boxing. The expert did not comply because Bob's argument is dead wrong.

Now we see the result of Bob's fact finding mission. He'll blame Martinez and say he never really wanted the fight but more and more, Bob's fighters stand alone in the drug war in boxing.

Lou was on our radio show last Thursday. He said it would not be a sticking point for him. Sounds like there is a disagreement in that camp. Sergio is dead set on it. I would be, too.
I dont blame Martinez one bit, Am sure Dibella would say fight chavez jr even without testing, But if its something Martinez feels strongly about (Considering he's the one getting hit in the head) then fuvk the fight, Before we had the usual "Why ask for extra testing when so so and so has never failed one before", Well we have Chavez jr who has history of failing drug test along with his shady way of cutting weight with a few days to go.

I thought Chavez was a bum according to Team Martinez and 99% of the board.

If so, like Dirk said, JCC could have the ability to turn invisible and Sergio would still win.

I think Martinez is nervous and is using this as a way out of the fight with Chavez. Why? because when he was on his euro bum tour fighting the Barkers and Macklins of the world.....there wasn't a hint at OST, but now that the Chavez fight is about to become a reality he hides by this b.s. excuse.

                • What exactly does that say about the state of boxing that when a fighter asks for better testing it is assumed to be a method of ducking, knowing that the other fighter will decline? Why cant we assume they will say yes, and it shouldnt be a problem?

Are we to assume that everyone is dirty then and just let it be? Accept that asking for better testing is ridiculous since theyre all dirty and no one would accept?

                  This ****ing place is insane...

                  • Considering Chavez's drugs in 2009 and skipping the post fight test in Feb, I'd say Sergio has every right to ask for a thorough test. If Chavez is clean, why should he have ANY problem with taking one? Sergio is NOT ducking him. And if Chavez won't take the test, then I'd think he'd lose a lot of credibility. Personally, I don't think Chavez is making the decision.
