Look at you clowns on here saying Marquez is too old. WTF? Who cares, he is a higher caliber fighter than anyone Rios has fought, EVER. Not to mention this is the guy who arguably beat Manny, yea this guy isn't worth calling out because he's old. People should stop calling out Mayweather then he'll be 36, or Sergio he's 37. This site literally amazes me sometimes, ****ing idiots.

The first thing I though when I read was if its on PPV, I'll probably get it and I don't like Marquez. I don't like Rios all that much either but this would be a WAR period. Comparing Rios to Diaz makes no sense to me as I think Rios is the better fighter his power and stamina are both better than Diaz ESPECIALLY power. I would actually favor Rios as well age being a factor, but I can see either guy winning.

And, he has called out Ortiz in the past. Either way it would be irrelevant if either guy calls each other out with the whole TR/GBP cold war.
this dude is hype over a 39 year old JMM?

Hopkins was damn good at the age of 39. And, I mean damn good. Arguably the best fighter in the sport at that age. Foreman became the man at HW 6 years after turning 39. Archie Moore was still damn good at the age of 39. Duran was inconsistent but at the times turning back the hands of time at 39+.

Not every fighter is the same. Not every fighter ages the same. JMM at 39 isn't on the level of B-Hop IMO at the age of 39. But, JMM being at 39 is levels above plenty of past great fighters were at 39.

At 135 JMM is still the best fighter at that weight, at 140 I would consider him #2. At WW he could very well be top 5, P4P he could be top 5.

Point is we can scream age 39 all we want. But, the man is still capable still damn good, not many guys through 3 divisions can say they're better than him. Or will I say could beat him.

So yea we going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

IF JMM doesn't become old over night then he picks Rios apart. Rios is pretty vulnerable to uppercuts and body shots, and Marquez loves to throw those uppercuts from far away. Rios would be uppercutted all day and take alot of body shots that would slow him down. And since both are counter punchers, and JMM has more experience, I could see him setting up many counter-attack traps that Rios would walk straight into. Rios is a slow starter but his best moments come within 5. After that its Marquez vs a mix of Katsidis/Diaz, with the slower pressure fighter coming forward and taking shots. Maybe Rios doesn't get stopped, but he definitely loses at least 7 or 8 rounds.

Anyone who doesn't like this fight isn't a fan of boxing. Great fight.

I was just going to say Rios is in for a big surprise. Marquez inhales fighters like Rios for breakfast.. He can eat tacos, lift stones and drink a 32oz of Gatorade Piss and still surgically dissect Rios.
