Comments Thread For: Rios May Land The Marquez Fight That He Always Wanted

Things can change within the drop of a pin in the boxing world.

Earlier this month the anticipation towards the sport’s next big show, a mouthwatering clash between former champions Brandon Rios and Yuriorkis Gamboa, was the talk of the town. All the hype died down, however, when Gamboa skipped out on a pair of press conferences in Miami and Los Angeles on Monday, March 5th and Tuesday, March 6th, respectively, raising questions as to whether or not he even wanted the fight. That would be a good exciting fight. Marquez would pick him apart imo.

Great fight but I am afraid the Old Warrior is going to be stopped.

You ask how can I predict something so bold? When Marquez has never been stopped!

I just look back a few fights to Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz vs Juan Manuel Marquez 1, In this fight the feather fisted Diaz was too much for Marquez (early rounds at least). Diaz had Marquez going back and catching him with shots that were rocking Marquez bad, So I ask myself if feather fisted Diaz can do this? Imagine what rios can do. Yes I know Rios pressure is slightly different then what Diaz was that night but the keyword here is POWER! Rios is heavy handed beyond belief and throws punches in bunches, This is what hurts his opponent. Just my lil break down on why I think Marquez might get stopped for the first time.

Rios makes it interesting but JMM picks him apart and stops him late. Juan Diaz> Brandon Rios

a prime baby bull was a much better fighter than Rios. If Diaz had power he would v been great.

I think Rios would win this, but it can go the other way just as easily. Good fight if this happens. Top Rank's in a hurry to get the next in-house opponent for Pacquiao. There's nobody else other than Mr. Quack Quack.
