mendy was a BS fight no question about that. johnson was a real challenge though, coming off a loss or not. glen is starting to slow down alot lately and isnt the force he once was but hes still a game fighter, the way bute handled him was very impressive.

froch is one of the best fighters in the world, not just at 168 but p4p. hes coming off a loss but he didnt take a beating and hes hasnt lost his confidence, if anything hes more dangerous now. remember how he came back from that robbery in herning? this time is diffrent since he really lost but still.

i give bute full credit for fighting froch now, especially in england. if he takes on antoher top fighter straight after this fight he will have redeemed himself fully in my eyes for all the tomato can defenses.

the question is not whether the guy he fights comes off a loss or not, the question is : how did the opponent look in his last fight, and who was it against ?

say Froch would have taken an easy fight in between Ward and Bute, would that make him more legit ? not more or less than he is now, because he hasn't taken punishment VS Ward, and he's still a top 168 pounder

the Mendy fight was terrible because dude did get knocked out by Bika, but Bute had to face him to keep his belt

again, you don't know **** son, you need to step yo game up
Agreed. No one wants to fight Bute. Kessler straight ran from the negotiation table without even offering a counter offer. Same with Pavlik. Ward also turned down any fight talks, yet he wants to fight Martinez?

War Froch for taking this fight.

Froch himself even confirmed this in an interview that Bute's fighting him because he's coming off a loss.

I, myself, believe that Froch will be at a disadvantage. I understand he beat Abraham while Froch was coming off a loss, but so was Abraham.

I just think when fighters fight big fights like this coming off losses, they're at a huge mental disadvantage.
Froch has home field advantage and still has a good chin. All he has to do is win 3-4 rounds, keep coming forward even if he's losing, make it to the 12th round, and he'll win a decision. It's Nottingham. If it goes 12, Froch wins no matter how badly he actually lost as long as he stays on his feet throughout the fight.
