Neither Paul Williams nor Antonio Margarito has tight D and both are pressure fighters. Martinez lost to both of them (although the Williams decision could have gone either way).Erm I think its been pointed out that Martinez problems are guys with tight D who don't pressure. Something like Rigo's problem. One way we can prove this is, look at the way Macklin came out. That's not his usual style but they changed it up and Martinez was having problems and had to adjust.Comment

Kirkland is way more dangerous than Maklin or Barker. I could see the Kirkland that torched Angulo, knocking out Martinez. Kirkland would be bombs away and either get caught coming in or put Martinez to sleep. He hits way harder than Williams or anyone Martinez has fought. But lets see if he gets past Molina Saturday....if he beats Molina, it would be a great matchup.Comment

There's no doubt that Kirkland is a warrior - a hard punching warrior, but with a questionable chin. I'm afraid that Martinez' quickness would get him into trouble. Martinez has a good chance of landing hard and quick blows that Kirkland can't detect before it's too late.
But lets wait until Kirkland gets passed Molina....Comment

Because that's where he holds his belts at? Doesn't he get stripped if he goes up or down in weight...?Comment

With all due respect, if Kirkland couldn't take a shot from Ishida what makes you think he can take one from Martinez? Are you gonna blame the trainer or call them flash knockdowns like Kirkland did?Comment
