I don't think anybody beats Floyd, does this mean Floyd should retire and not fight Pacman and Martinez? Of course not. There are a lot of upsets in boxing on the regular. Martinez matches well with Floyd as far as legs, speed, power and size, so he does have the best shot. Cotto is too short and slow and he'll run against Floyd the same way he did against Tony. That's his new coach's strategy anyway, to move and hit.

i agree, even though i'm a bigger fan of martinez than of mayweather's, i see martinez as an underdog but posing the biggest challenge around (pacquiao included). martinez's only chance is to catch floyd and capitalize on it. tko/ko, whatever stoppage you want to predict. but it'll be hard to see martinez try and win more rounds then mayweather in a 12 round fight. it'd have to be by stoppage.

i'm pretty sure your intention was to basically say pacquiao/mayweather are going to whoop martinez, who you probably dislike. i've seen your comments before. i'll just leave it at that.

What's funny is I actually think Chavez coming in at cruiserweight and having inherited his father's chin could be a big challenge for Martinez, especially if Martinez has an off night. I'm not a fan of Chavez but he's been improving steadily as well. I just don't understand why is Arum so afraid to put him in against Sergio. Chavez is huge and has a granite chin.

Yeah, you're right, it makes common sense but then we have Ishida destroying Kirkland and back in the day Zab outboxing Floyd for the first 4 rounds. So crazier things have happened. I would pick Floyd by decision as well though.

Martinez always cuts people because of the way he punches. Chavez jr's face would fall to bits and pieces by the 6th round because of his crappy defense. Arum knows this

Using your attributes is not a sign of improvement, it's a sign of complacency. He hasn't fought anyone who comes into the ring with a strategy. So what does he do, he lays and smothers them with his 175+ body frame and throws hooks to the body. There's not much complexity to what Chavez does. He also lacks any consistent defense. His defense is a high-guard, which Martinez could and probably will have some issues with, but he does get lazy. Chavez hasn't been in the ring with ANYONE that is fleet-footed and who enjoys throwing fast and hard combinations. Chavez will be a sitting duck, and will depend on his chin to get him through to the final bell. His face is gonna look like he got hit with a meat tenderizer after the fight. I don't think he hits hard enough to **** Sergio up, and he doesn't have a good jab either. Chavez is a ****in mess. Jose Sulaiman is on crack if he thinks Chavez is gonna win.

I can't disagree with that but the way he bullied Rubio was crazy and Rubio's shots had no effect on him. I can see how martinez can potshot him and do a Pavlik on him because I think Chavez is a poor version of Pavlik but his weight and his chin, damn!

If Martinez couldn't fight off the back-foot, then I would say he's gonna have big problems. However, Martinez's strength is when he's fighting off the back-foot, cuz he's constantly setting traps. Chavez tends to just bully his way in, which is gonna get him hit with mean straight lefts. Team Chavez is worried that Sergio will make him look foolish. Once Chavez loses that belt, he loses everything. He has no worth without that belt, and that's why he hasn't fought any other top MW. I expect Murray/Chavez to occur, and I'm hoping that Murray pulls it off, cuz I'm exhausted with Chavez and his nonsensical fans. You got the stans touting Chavez's undefeated record like it means somethin. I can't tell if they're trolling or if they're serious lol. No boxing fan can be THAT deluded.
