HBO snubs him after the Jacobs fights. so from this and not even mentioning the guy when he was at a fight is another snub, don't you think?

Dibella is the one who offered the fight, does it make sense that he'd turn it down? so logically that means that Pirog is the one who most likely didn't want to take it.

"If a fight with Martinez is not next, there are other options. For one, the network Martinez fights on, HBO, is not the only game in town"

so from this we can see that HBO isn't exactly warm to the idea of Pirog facing Martinez just yet.

but if the dots aren't connected enough just read something another poster on this site compiled.

What's the point of this? Where does it say the Manfredo fight was gonna be on HBO?

And then in the same post you're convincing me HBO is not high on Pirog, like that's something I don't know. So how does that jibe with them letting him fight a sitting duck like Manfredo, a showcase fight?

And let me make it clear, as a Pirog fan I don't think he's more deserving than Geale or Chavez or several other, and I wish he'd get more active. Even Macklin was maybe more deserving, Barker not so much. But most of these had little chance with Sergio. I think/hope Pirog Martinez would be more competitive. But until Pirog makes a case for himself, Geale or Lee sounds fine.

Lou don't be a hypocrite. Proska, Pirog and Golovkin are just as marketable as previous opponents Sergei, Barker, Macklin or possible future opponents that you mention Geale or Lee. And to set the bar the ****ing "high" is ridiculous Lou, bring a fight back to the THEATER at the garden and sell it out again? The THEATER? It's not that big of an accomplishment for someone of Sergio's level to sell out a 5 to 6,000 seat venue. And I love the speaking english comment, does that mean Sergio is not marketable because he doesn't speak english?

I dig Golovkin and Pirog because they are thunderous punchers, but both need to get off tbeir ass and fight somebody worth a ****e before demanding anything. Their opposition has been horrible the past few years and Pirog, who should be a star, has been way too inactive. Macklin was a far better opponent than either one has faced. Too bad Proska lost this weekend, because he looked like a stud v Sylvester.

Chavez isn't going to ever fight Martinez, or Golovkin or Pirog for that matter, so they should not bother chasing him. Funny how Sturm is never mentioned. I guess he has such a long history of ducking the best that nobody even talks about him anymore outside of Germany.

In fact Pirog was glad to fight Manfredo in US (said it himself in an interview) - he said Manfredo is known name and fighting him in US would be good for promoting him on US soil.

Pirog doesn't want to even come to the US, at least that's how it looks, so I doubt they ever fight. Golovkin, why not??? He's one of the best MW's in the world and is more than willing to come to the US to fight Sergio. If you could sell 4,000 tickets for Sergio-Barker in Jersey, I'm sure you could go the same with Sergio-Golovkin. Just put a really good fight on the card with it and it'll sell 4,000 tickets.

They have no excuse to not fight Golovkin, and a pretty lame excuse to not pursure an Andre Ward or Lucian Bute at a perfectly reasonable CW of 164/165.

Lee, Geale, Golovkin, any of those are good for me. Pirog won't even stay active and seems unwilling to fight Sergio in the US, f**k him. Let him stay in Russia and fight absolutely no one, and than get an injury so he can back out of the fight with N'Jikam, but then announce he'll be fighting a month after the fight with N'Jikam was suppose to be.

Its as I said .. Martinez will continue to exclusively fight soft touches until he gets a mega payday against Mayweather or Pacquiao.

He feels that he cannot afford to squander any momentum whatsoever. Losing is not an option unless its against the top two.

And many of you continue to call him a P4P#3?

Its a disservice to the very term P4P .. which was created for the G.O.A.T. Ray Robinson to entertain the idea that if weight was not a factor, judging by skills and conditioning alone he could be competitive in ANY weight class against ANY fighter.

People really need to reexamine their personal definition of the term "P4P" and then reconsider their own personal P4P lists because most of the men that top that list do not belong there.

              Sheesh.

I asked you this once yesterday but why do you keep blatantly lying by saying Pirog won't fight in the US?

He fought once in the US against Jacobs and hasn't shown any interest since. When they were talking about Martinez-Pirog being made, it seemed like the deal breaker was the location. Sergio was offered his highest purse but to fight him in Russia, and Sergio declined. And Pirog didn't show the slighest interest in fighting Sergio in America. So, that's why I'm sayng that.

And the thing about Pirog pulling out of the N'Jikam fight in April due to injury, but than announcing he'll be fighting in early May, is true. Now, he's mad because N'Jikam and Bursak are fighting each other. That's what happens when you don't stay active and keep on fighting no names in Russia I guess.

What basis do you have to say he showed no interest in fighting Sergio in America? He has said on numerous occasions that he'll fight him in America. You're just talking **** Im afraid.

He offered him a fight in Russia because thats what he can offer.

Its up to Sergio to make a counter offer to fight in America but in the words of Lou Di Bella, "*** Pirog".

id rather sergio move back down to 154 and chase some of the gbp studs in that division. im sure at least on or 2 of them would be willing to fight him. the middleweight division is garbage. there really is no way around that fact.
