yeah and check his fight night weight against barker, it was 165 lbs. how much did ortiz weigh again? how much did margarito weigh against pacquiao again? you floyd fanboys will bash anything that isn't or includes floyd and vice versa with pac fanboys, or that can be seen as any potential threat. all anyone is saying is if floyd fights cotto at the full 154, why not fight martinez at the full 154? you really think anyone outside of diehard floyd fans would be happy with floyd beating martinez at 150? pacfans would deff tear that win up. and others who just dislike floyd would question it. i myself say if martinez offered it himself, then that's his fault. but obviously a fight at the real allowed limit of LMW would be better.

Who cares?
Lou DiFatso is the worst promoter in boxing, who cares what he thinks?
His biggest fighter is Sergio-- who has no fans, no following, no PPVs, and gets no ratings.Comment

I'm with DiBella on this one. Merchant was talking down on Martinez from the opening bell. There was definitely an agenda last night. Why not have the "true" middleweight champion and #1 contender to the BS WBC belt fight JCC Jr??? Good on Lou for having at Merchant and HBO!Last edited by GodInFleshSuit; 03-18-2012, 05:32 PM.Comment

NO FANS??? Dude you have your head so far up Jr's @$$ that you can't help but spew $h!t everytime you speak on Martinez. Why can't you just come on here and talk boxing instead of constantly bad mouthing Maravilla. Get off JCC Jr's sack and use this website for what it's for, to discuss boxing not hate!Comment

finally
Finally someone I agree with. So few understand how weight works in boxing. Of course different fighters handle it differently but most guys walk around significantly heavier than their fighting weight, especially if they aren't in the gym in between. One of these guys ( I have trouble keeping up with the whos who of ignorant people) said they saw sergio look heavy in pictures in january. Well of course he looked a bit chubby then, that doesn't mean he should be a supermiddleweight. Supermiddleweights cut weight just to get down to 168 and just like other fighters, most gain a lot after the weigh-in. My point is no NOT ALL GREAT FIGHTERS MOVE UP A BUNCH IN WEIGHT.Comment

I feel as if Martinez is getting the short end of the stick on his exposure as well as positive press. Leading up to the fight all focus was on macklin, and before the training camps all the sound bites of Martinez was basically him complaining about Chavez. His promote team has done jack all to raise interest in his fights as well as persona. Yeah, he's had beef with hbo and others, but his team runs no damage control whatsoever. I feel that Martinez has the potential to get his big fights and appeal to the masses, but is held back by his promo team. He needs to be heard doing positive things and not just in sound bytes.
And the criticism about him needing to move up is garbage. He still puts on entertaining fights and by no means does he dominate. If he did, then i too would say to move up in weight. But even if he was dominating he doesn't need to move in weight, after all nobody called for PongWong to move out of his weight division and people basically suck him off for being a great boxer.Comment

Martinez is definitely not a 160 fighter. Mad props for the guy for moving up and cleaning up a division he's not even supposed to fight in!Finally someone I agree with. Hey, to the Martinez ball lickers, for one, Chavez JR weight as much as Bute and Ward on fight night, first fail!
Second, he says Martinez will be outweight by 20 pounds, against SMW's,
a)Chavez Jr. will outweight him by 20 pounds
b) wont Martinez outweight Pac and/or Floyd by 20 pounds also?
Third Lou and his camp has been saying that Martinez is a WW that fight at MW, well if he is a blown up WW fight Manny at 147!
Martinez says Pirog aint a big enough name for him to fight him, and who the **** knows who Martinez is? He is a unknown for Pac, Money and Cotto to fight him!
MArtinez and his team are a bunch of desperate hipocrits!!Last edited by ChampBox@PR; 03-18-2012, 06:03 PM.Comment
