TS Floyd didn't get Fighter of the Decade because a Greater fighter got it. His name is Manny "eh eh ahhh eh talky tu mi premoter" Pacquiao.

Floyd just took a long layoff at the wrong time. If Floyd didn't retire then he would've gotten Fighter of the Decade.

I don't get it why he didn't get it too. He is the face of boxing. I mean when he fight it's always big, you get the complete package with free room, free buffet, free limo ride from the airport. Pacroid can even offer a basic soft-drink with his fight ticket.

Exactly , he just didnt fight often enough and when voting time was on , Mannys was making the biggest noise , as they say timing is everything , Floyd is a class above Manny in boxing , Manny has a punchers chance no more , just think what would have been if Manny didnt duck the test to spar Clottey , Floyd would have schooled Pacs ass and where would Pac be now , I know still ducking fighters , Cotto without Manny weight and Floyd period .

It's pretty simple to see why he didn't.

It's real easy. Pac put in more work.

Actually as a Mayweather fan, I have no real issue with Manny being the fighter of the decade, I can accept that. Unlike Pac fans, I can be honest and unbiased about the other fighter. I think Manny's run and performances up until his WW run have been great, beating some future HOF's and fighting great. The problem I have had with Manny and this whole Pacmania as of late, is his WW run and the JMM fights. I think he lost fights 2 & 3 to JMM (without a shadow of a doubt fight #3) and his weight draining of ODLH, Cotto and Marg were BS. Maybe those decisions were not his, but either way it impacts his legacy. This fight against Bradley will say a lot about Pac, to everyone. He is fighting a quick, slick and in their prime fighter. Also he is fighting a black american fighter, which I, like Bhop, have said, that he has avoided (obviously Mosley does not count). If he has serious trouble against Bradley or loses, than that will speak volumes about his choices of opponents over the last few years. As I said, I am fine with him being fighter of the decade, but June 6th may tell a lot about Pac, good or bad. If Pac ices Bradley I will come right on here and give him props, 100%.

because he is more interested in self preservation than fighting the best. thats why.

yeah this and also the fact he only fought once in 2009...whereas pacquiao was coming off two good wins against hatton (made pac the first to win 4 lineal titles in 4 weight divisions) and cotto (made pac the first to win 7 world titles in 7 different weight divisions)...

Not fighting for most of the last two years, along with a single fight in 2004, and an overall uugh run from 03-05 generally had a lot to do with it. Manny won FOTY three times in the last five years of the decade. Floyd had one over the whole ten years.

It doesn't really matter. If they ever fight, and Floyd wins, retrospective analysis of the decade will say Floyd was the guy. Contemporary assessments are often trumped by hindsight. Have to wait for it all to play out.
