Why didnt Floyd get Fighter of the Decade?

It's funny because a lot of the Pac fans like to go off "ratings/rankings".
What they don't realize is Floyd was ranked higher on the P4P list than Manny from 2000 - his retirement in 2008.
Based off some Pac fans own criteria, Floyd was FOTD.
Of course they won't acknowledge that.Comment

the reason floyd didn't get FOD was his relatively weak opposition and inactivity. He didnt fight any elite level fighters from 2003-2006 (except zab, who was coming off of a loss to baldomir). He took 2008 off as well and fought really infrequently in the second half of the decade.
Pac just had a better resume, even though he took an L to Erik Morales and in many people's eyes lost to JMM in their 2nd fight.Comment

which years do you think floyd should've won fighter of the year awards?...Comment

thats coz american media paid attention to floyd eversince he went to pro boxing...he was fighting on national tv even in his firts early fights(abc) , where as pac really only got noticed when he koed barrera in 2003 despite being a chmapion in the divisions already...It's funny because a lot of the Pac fans like to go off "ratings/rankings".

I'm not asking about "what the American media" did.
Fact is Floyd was considered P4P the better fighter from 2000-2008. Even based on your 2003 standards, Floyd was still considered the better fighter the majority of the decade.
Again, most Pac fans like to go by rankings, but based on their own criteria, Floyd should've been FOTD.Comment

you werent asking but im just telling you why floyd has been in the p4p longer than pac has which is what you were sayin ...and no, if floyd was considered the better fighter of the decade, he should've won more than one fighter of the year inside the decade...but he did'nt ...he only won once by the bwwaa...pac won it 3 times ( one of only 5 fighters)...I'm not asking about "what the American media" did.

So you acknowledge that Floyd was P4P ranked higher than Pac from 2000-2008 and you're telling me that because Pac won FOTY 3 timesto Floyd's 1 time, he deserved to be FOTD?you werent asking but im just telling you why floyd has been in the p4p longer than pac has which is what you were sayin ...and no, if floyd was considered the better fighter of the decade, he should've won more than once fighter of the year inside the decade...but he did'nt ...he only won once by the bwwaa...pac won it 3 times ( one of only 5 fighters)...
You don't think that sounds fishy?
Of course not.Last edited by BoxingGenius27; 03-16-2012, 08:46 PM.Comment

ofcourse i do...he joied the p4p rankings in 98 without losing so ofcourse he was ranked higher than pac did....but what you dont realized is that floyd has been demoted many times in the list too...he was 2nd in the 99 and 7th in the 2000.. and 5th in 2001 and 8th in 2002..part of his move up to the rankings were because of fighters losing , ..pac has come in at 6th , 5th , 2nd and king ..
like i said, for a guy who only got noticed in the 2003, pac has done well in this decade winning 3 times fighter of the year...Comment
