I know what you mean the term beatdown is ok cause it was a beatdown.

I disagree when people say Cotto "got dominated" by Margarito cause that connotates a one sided fight.

No better way to put it.

And beatdowns don't have to be one sided. There are lots of competitive beatdowns in boxing history.

I just feel like beatdown is an elementary and an almost primitive term that doesn't always accurately portray what happened.

            Margarito outlasted Cotto.

I think he was beat into submission in a close fight. Not a one sided beatdown if that's what you mean.

All these Cotto haters talk like Miguel was the first and only boxer how ever took a knee.

Fugg man....lots of dudes have done so, hell, much worse, quit on the stool!!!

How about the dudes that Miguel made quit!!! You dont talk about them much!

Cotto was likely beaten with plaster and even then, it was more a war of attrition than a beat down.

Yes, he was all bloodied-up, but he had a broken nose and those bleed. He could not get his 100% intake of air as you would normaly from round number 2, and was on his back foot 90% of the fight. Yes, it was a war of attrition and he lost it.

Miguel was on the fight, even on the last round he landed some meaningfull combos, which at the time, Miguel did not had any power behind it.

Now a days, he can fight on the back foot and as everyone saw, he pounded and completely outclassed Margarito.

                Fugg the haters!

                  Beat down,
First he CHEATED, second he was PLASTERED up, third he still couldn't knock him down with plaster he should be ban from MEXICO he is an embarrassment to the sport.
He knew he couldn't win so he CHEATED.

                  Let's go back in time:
Remember those cops who beat Rodney King they hit him with night sticks why?
because Rodney would of ****ed them up so they cheated, same scenario here.

The first half was competitive but then the second half he was getting beat down and eventually quit as he said he felt like he was getting hit with a bat.
