It's sad how good Zab Judah could have been

I mean his power and speed is just incomparable...

He always outshone the guys in his biggest fights early- even mayweather and cotto.. but he just can't keep it up lol..... and he fights so dumb.

    What do you guys think?

he's just too mentally weak, if a guy just keeps coming foward at him he just melts mentally and shuts down

Yeah hes was good, but i think his early dominance of foyd is a little overrated... It was the first 4 rounds that everyone speaks about but i only seen 2 rounds of the 4 where he won....

Coming up, Zab had more hype around him than some olympic gold medalists.

        I think Kosta ruined him.

I don't think he was that good really. He was always more flash than anything.

          People confuse speed with skill.

A flaw in Mental make up, heart or concentration is every bit the flaw that a weak chin, slow punching or leaky defence is

Based on that Zab rightly ended up where he ended up. He got the right fights and all the chances - HE just blew it

All the physical tools you could ask for, didn't have the boxing skills or mental aspects to go with it though.

Mayweather didn't really do anything in the first few rounds, he just let Zab do his thing while he watched what he was doing and figured him out quick. Was it Floyd that called him the 'front-runner'? Always starts fast, but fades away? Pretty much summed it up.

I agree, he had speed and power but I think his skills are pretty lacking. His jab is a joke and he has no real defence. The real reason why he didn't live up to most of the hype though was his lack of balls and heart.

Normally, when you have African American fighters that are flashy and knock their opponents out like Judah did early in his career, normally this is all of the indications of a pretty damn solid fighter in the making.

One can't help but to think this is skill, until proven otherwise.

Do I need to name all of the African American fighters that were "flashy" that turned out to have a great deal of skill?
