Unfortunately with all the alphabet soup and weight divisions titles have lost a lot of gravitas. When the weight classes were few, the organizations fewer, a title really meant something very different.
Martial Arts has the same problems, rank inflation...what it means to have a black belt today bares no relation to what it meant when we were coming up. You have guys walking around with tenth degree black belts...thats crazy. What I do now a days when I want to know how good someone is with no mat around? ask them how long they have been studying.
I just feel like depending on these markers, titles, belts, etc will always be relative. AB does have god given talent, he just cannot work on the craft.
Larry when you sent vids of your kid training the bag it was obvious he had taken direction on how to hit the bag. Some guys do that allll the way on up but at a certain point think they know the game. And we don't know the level of instruction Bronner is getting. I remember seeing Judah's dad, who was a hellacious kickboxer btw, yelling at his son in the corner...it was very sad. instead of directions, like Ward or Floyd gets from the corner, Joel was yelling and Zab always looked lost. AB has imo a similar problem, he really needs a Roger Mayweather to tell him he don't know **** and to listen.
I tease AB but always hoping he pulls the right string one of these days.
