Steve Kim and Boxing is About Business

He talks about the business aspect of boxing and how it's about business and very few people know about it. Yet he pummels Gamboa as a butthurt bscene member who is upset that the Gamboa vs Rios fight didn't happen.

I will not read another Steve Kim column ever, he's a paid Top Rank writer and although he has some insights. He's clearly never objective.

Yea and Gamboa made a business decision, a bad one

Not honoring your agreement and contract and being sued is not good business

i use to follow him for awhile, now i honestly dont care for what he says because he is extremely biased... he will never say anything negative about bob arum and this is because he hangs out with alot of the top rank bosses so he never questions anything that has to do with them... yet he will **** on golden boy anytime...

also its pretty clear he despises mayweather and everything about him...

Kim should come clean and talk about the business of being a boxing writer - as in being funded/ receiving benefits from a promoter - toprank.

If anyone read his recent piece about his travels to puerto rico to cover the salido/ gamboa fight, it reads more like a toprank tour guide for staff members...which kim secretly is. Well, its not a good secret really lol.

if toprank didnt pay for kims trip to PR im a very bad judge.

If we still haven't noticed, 95% of boxing writers are a joke. The best thing you can do is tune them out. The more hits their stories get and the more exposure they receive, i.e. mentioning them by name, the more influence they gain.

Lots of boxing writers depend on their stipend from Top Rank, but even beyond that it doesn't pay to be negative of them unless a guy is already minted.

Very few guys can get away with dissing Top Rank because Top Rank will just exclude them and covering Top Rank guys is a big part of the sport so either a guy can bite a hand that feeds them (directly or indirectly) or just pass on what Top Rank has to say.

I have just learned to tune out what what writers have to say about Top Rank.
