That is Gamboa's only hope, if he agreed to the contract and the contract is what he agreed to as well as the advance then unfortunately Gamboa does not have much of a case in court. But this is the issue no one knows Gamboa's side, i wish he'd just come out and explain it from his perspective.

Sad thing is that Bob Arum won't be happy if Gamboa paid that money back even with penalty. He would rather have control over him n ruin his career rather than let Gamboa out of his "contract".

It would be nice if all boxing/mma contracts was available to the fans like the other mainstream sports. It would even the playing field significantly.

here is the thing I have been told

as far as his contract goes he believes it's expired much like the way Donaire thought his was as well. My guess is that TR has options on renewal which they probably exercised and Gamboa isn't realizing that

now as far as the actual fight is concerned let me ask you this

how do you take an advance on a fight that you never agreed to?

2 Promoters, 2 Trainers, at least 1 manager, and Gamboa never had a lawyer look at his initial contract with at least Top Rank? He made a big mistake but he does have a good legal team now with Sekou Gary as his lawyer.

Gamboa has new legal representation. From what I understand, his former attorney, Tony Gonzalez, is an officer of Arena Box (a clear conflict of interest). I have no way of knowing what Yuri's current lawyer is telling him. So either he's incompetent, or Gamboa's disregarding legal counsel. Who knows which is true?

The only thing I know about an "advance" is what I've read here, so who knows what's really going on with that. My guess is, of course, that Yuri is probably screwed if he accepted an advance.

Question, when Gamboa fought Solis he was co-promoted, am I to believe that he just realized he's only taking home 30% percent home.

Gamboa has already said its not about the money..its a bs deal but thats not his biggest concern right now. Hes said hes not comfortable with the conditions of the contract or something along those lines, which to me sounds like the issue with his trainer. All of us can only assume but if they really did force him to leave salas then id be pretty upset too

and lol @ these idiot pac *** riders bringing up floyd for no reason, and calling gamboa scared Hyacinth's post was spot on
