There was a thread yesterday in which Steve Kim quoted Arum about Chavez vs Murray. I really hope the WBC enforces a match vs Martinez- Chavez is just a paper champ who rides the name of his father.

Now that word is out that Martinez hasn't been looking all that great in sparring recently. I'm sure Chavez is licking his chops, guess we'll find out in a couple weeks whether father time has got a hold of Martinez yet, he is what 38 years old? Martinez ain't got that much left in the tank, he can't compete at that high level forever... Chavez is just entering into his prime and by the time these two fight it will be the old man vs the young stud...

Sulaiman said in the article that Top Rank is trying to keep the fight from happening.
100% right! Yesterday Arum was talking about making Chavez-Murray. What a joke fight that would be, yet fitting for a joke champ.

I'm not holding my breath for this one. I'm already expecting Chavez/Murray, which won't be a fight I'll be mad at tbh. Murray is a good fighter who is in his physical prime, and will come to fight. He's also top 15 opposition, which I've been dying for Chavez to fight for the longest, so make it happen. Put Martinez up against another titlist (after Macklin) so he can unify.

Prepare to see Top Rank announce that Chavez is moving up to 168lbs.
...and after they take a good look at the 168 division they will announce a move to 175.

Yet those excuses and concerns didn't come up before those fights. It's like saying Ali is overrated because Sonny Liston and Foreman really weren't that good/ past prime (even though they were heavy favorites).
