That's fine, I don't disagree, but he has fought his mandatories. If his mandatory decides not to wait another month till Pirog is supposedly healed, why should the belt be on the line? It's not like he's overdue, it's not even clear the WBO appointed a mandatory. But whatever, it's not like he hasn't benefitted from the WBO's greed.

Also this HNN fight that he supposedly pulled out of, it was never made to begin with:

An unfortunate left shoulder injury will postpone a possible April defense for WBO middleweight champion Dmitry Pirog (19-0, 15KOs). He was going to face former WBA-interim champion Hassan N'Dam N'jikam (26-0, 17KOs) of France on April 6th. The fight has now been placed on hold until further notice.

Pirog did reject the date, but what's wrong with one month later? The stadium in Equatorial Guinea is booked through June?

But yea ibdunno wats going on, buy none of that's Pirog and his teams fault. That's everyrone else's fault
How do you know they werent doing anything to get Pirog a fight? They offered it to Barker who got injured. The other two guys would rather fight for the interim belt than the full title and thats Pirogs fault.....lol

The guy gets blacklisted by HBO because he KOed their hypejob. But he should "make something happen". God what **** you talk.

Pirog said he would be fine in a month, but when it comes to injuries, it's never 100% certain. N'jikam has been inactive for almost a year and needs to get in the ring as soon as possible. He can't risk Pirog not being ready again when the date for the fight comes. See what just happened with Mikel Kessler recently for example.

Also, the article says "He was going to face former WBA-interim champion Hassam N'Dam N'jikam on April 6th." This implies the fight and date was already agreed upon. It was basically done. Then Pirog gets injured and the "fight is placed on hold." When you say Pirog simply rejected the date, you make it sound as if there was never any agreement beforehand. I don't think that's the case. Had Pirog been injured before the negotiations and then rejected April 6th date because he knew he wouldn't be ready, then that would be one thing. But Pirog cancelled after there was basic agreement. The reason I'm pointing this out is that that I think it's ****** that a lot of people here are implying that N'jikam is ducking Pirog while Pirog is doing his darndest to get the fight. It's more complicated than that.

Have you seen this fight announced anywhere? Was it ever even on boxrec? They had some discussions I'm sure, but check the lingo in the link above: "possible fight", "will sit at the negotiating table when the injury heals", etc. Why negotiate if they agreed to terms?

Btw, I haven't seen anyone implying HNN is ducking Pirog, that fight never figured till now. Are you mistaking Pirog for GG?

What's your opinion of HNN's choice of venue?
