  • Comments Thread For: R. Mayweather Explains Why Floyd Ranks Behind Robinson

Roger Mayweather, trainer and uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr., explained why his nephew is the "second greatest fighter of all-time." Roger ranks boxing legend "Sugar" Ray Robinson as the greatest fighter in the history of the sport. The outspoken trainer believes his nephew, who won titles at 130, 135, 140, 147 and 154 - is the second greatest. Mayweather faces WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

hahaha, i don't think he quoted one number correctly there. i laughed very hard when he said lamotta outweighed him by 50 pounds.

on a more serious note, floyd is not the second greatest fighter of all time. he is a great fighter, but because of the way boxing is today he has been able to be much more selective with opponents than robinson or anyone in past generations could be. i'm not hating by the way, but floyd wouldn't even be in my top 10 - i think that way too much is made of the fact that he's unbeaten. people seem to think that it makes him invincible, which no one is.

I wish Roger Mayweather could string a sentence together without swearing. The man is a proper little rat. He should spend less time chatting rubbish and more time reflecting on the fact that were it not for FM Jnr he would most likely be in jail, or homeless.

What a BUM Roger Mayweather is.

Roger said Floyd is only second to Robinson; but, Floyd Jr said he is the Greatest!

Whom Are you going to believe?

If what they're saying were true, then how come their fellow Americans,
The Boxing Writers Association of America(BWAA) didn't chose/vote Floyd Mayweather Jr as "The Fighter Of The Decade"?

They should focus more on Floyd Jr.' Court Cases, and his impending vacation in Jail.

Atleast crack hasn't ruined him to the point where he thinks Floyd is greater than Robinson. Nice to see him talk a bit of sense for one. btw Floyd may make my top 30 if he's really really lucky.
