It's not as simple as bruises and blood shows up easier on fair skin. Scientists have actually proven that a higher concentration of melanin in the dermis provides more durable skin. It's really that simple.

right. i was agreeing with you. if skin doesn't bruise as easily it's more durable.

It is actually an advantage having dark skin in physical ways.

Such as dark skin highlights muscle structure, and thus look more itimidating.

Also dark skin is better against skin cancer than pure White skin with a lack of melanin.

As for tougher, I don't know but dark skin obviously hides bruises etc.. Better.
