I think he's right, in Gladwell's book Outliers (I think don't quote me on that it explains it)
It's true though, Black skin is tougher it's just genetic because of the intense sun in their ancestry. Which may or may not prevent cuts, though I don't see how it would effect bruising.
But i can see this has turned into a race relations thread so I'll just scream and shout about my heritage HALF INDONESIAN YEAH!
