Haye's toe wont let him. Look at the Valuev fight. Nikolay had less skill and Vitali at this point is still much better than him.

Haye need to switch trainers, at times in the Wlad fight he made Wlad look silly with his head movement, it's just that he didn't know how to counter it. He needed to stand in the middle with him and trade blows, people say Haye hasn't got a good chin, but neither has Wlad, people said don't trade with Wlad which was nonsense IMO, it's the only chance Haye had to win, he hasn't got the physical nor technical attributes (with Booth in his corner) to beat a man of Wlad's physical presence or quality.

He has very quick feet but I think that his balance is not very good meaning he can't always get off the punches that he should be able to. People like Billy Conn had great footwork.

Booth's done well for himself but I don't think he is such a great trainer if he was he would have sorted some of Haye flaws out, and the tactics for the Wlad fight were it would appear hope to counter Wlad with a lucky right hand.
